Mrs. Rachel Groves
I have always loved learning! I love to read and write short stories. Most importantly, I love to work with people. When I was in the fourth grade, I determined that I wanted to be a teacher. Ms. Bailey, my favorite teacher, allowed me to come each summer after fourth grade to help prepare her classroom for the new school year. In high school, I worked with Mrs. Collins as an academic tutor for her first grade class. After graduating high school, I attended Auburn University. Auburn offered me so many teaching experiences in Auburn City Schools and Gwinnett County, GA (intern program). After graduating college, I worked in Pinellas County Schools (FL) before returning to North Alabama to work in Decatur City Schools. I loved living so close to Clearwater Beach, but family pulled me back to Morgan County. Now, I am married with two children and two dogs, Millie and Annie. We are happily settled and thriving in Hartselle, Alabama.
My husband, Eddie Groves, is also an educator. We married in July 2006. In 2008, Olivia Grace changed our lives forever and has been teaching us every day as we walk the path of parenthood. In 2009, Isabella "Bella", made her grand entrance into the world and has been our constant entertainment. Olivia and Bella love their teachers in HCS. Eddie and I are so thankful that our girls are attending Hartselle City Schools. We believe that Hartselle has one of the best school systems around!
