About Me

I have lived in Hartselle my entire life!  I married my junior high sweetheart, Chris Hines, in 2006.  We have a compassionate and spunky daughter named Marlee and the cutest little dog who Marlee named Tiny!  My family is very close both literally and physically as much of my family lives within a mile of each other!

Teaching is in my blood.  I am a third generation teacher with many family members in the education field.  Since I was a little girl, I have never thought of doing anything else other than teach.  I graduated from Athens State University in 2006 with my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.  I taught 1st grade at Cotaco School my first year out of college, but my unit was cut due to low numbers after that year, so I wasn't rehired.  Since then I have taught several extended leaves of absence in Hartselle City and Lawrence County.  When Marlee was born, I chose to stay home with her for a few years, and in that time I started a preschool / mother's day out program at my church.  I was hired to teach 2nd grade at Crestline in 2018, and I was thrilled to come back to my childhood alma mater.

I absolutely love what I do!  Teaching little minds has some challenges, but the rewards make the tough times so worth it!
