I am originally from Summerville, Georgia and graduated high school from Chattooga County High School. I moved to Alabama to attend school at Jacksonville State University.  My bachelor’s degree is in Criminal Justice with a minor in Political Science. I ended up back in school in the 5th year alternative teacher education program where I earned my Master’s in Secondary education specializing in Social Science.

Through my 8 years in education, I have taught every grade level from 5th-12th. I am also certified to teach middle school math and spent four years teaching math at the high school and middle school levels. Even though I am dual certified, my heart is with history and civics. My goal in teaching 7th grade civics is to encourage students to understand how the government works, so that they can grow up to be actively involved citizens. I am looking forward to working with your students this year!
