Mr. Ryan Nix
I have been teaching music for 17 years in public schools. I am a graduate of Hartselle High School, Class of 2000 and attended the University of North Alabama where I studied percussion and music education with Dr. Lloyd Jones, Mr. David Waters, and Dr. Ian Moyer. After graduating from UNA with a Bachelor's in Music Education, I taught as a band director in Hartselle City Schools, Hoover City Schools, Tuscaloosa City Schools, Escambia County Florida Schools, and Athens City Schools before returning home to Hartselle. At Hartselle Junior High School I teach Acoustic Guitar, Beginning Band, Advanced Band & Percussion, and also assist our High School Band with Director of Bands, Mr. Randall Key.
When I am not teaching music or band, I enjoy spending time with my wife and children either at home or out experiencing God's creation in the great outdoors. Hartselle is a very special community to me and our family. We believe in supporting others within the community and building tomorrow's leaders through music education here in our small town. We believe that Music Education and the activity of Band will provide opportunities for young people to develop as leaders and entertainers. Our Hartselle Band program has helped countless young people attain college scholarships to continue their education beyond Hartselle City Schools.
