I live in Decatur, AL. My son is Zachary Gillette. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Sophie. Zachary has an accounting degree from Auburn and Sophie has a BS degree in Education and teaches 2nd grade in Decatur. I have two grandsons. Their names are Mac and Sage. They are my sunshine. I love spending as much time with them as I can. I have 2 Boxer bulldogs, a Weimeraner, and one little dog. My hobby is rescuing dogs in need. I do my best to find them forever homes. It has almost become a full time job but it's worth the rewards of seeing them safe, healthy, and happy. I love vacations at the beach, looking for seashells, walking my dogs, and hiking. 

    I received my BS degree from Athens State University. I received my MA at the University of Alabama Birmingham. I started my teaching career in Decatur, AL at Austinville Elementary School in 1994. After teaching there 11 yrs., I came to Barkley Bridge in 2005. I have always taught 2nd grade. I find that amazing! It's the perfect grade so I never want to change. I love my job and my students. I hope to make each day a fun learning experience that they will enjoy and remember forever.
