Welcome,

     My name is Mrs. Julie Downs. I absolutely love teaching! Growing up to become a teacher was my childhood dream, and I'm very thankful to be able to do what I love each day. I earned my Associates degree in elementary education from Calhoun Community College in May 2011. I then went on to earn my Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Athens State University in December 2013, where I graduated Cum Laude. I began my first year teaching fourth grade at F.E. Burleson in the Fall of 2014 and transferred to second grade in the Fall of 2015. I transferred to Kindergarten in 2021, and I love it. I am so proud to be a part of Hartselle City Schools!

     I am happily married to my husband, Trent Downs. We have been married since October of 2016. We have a son named Sawyer, who was born in October 2018, and a daughter named Della, who was born in May 2022. They are our world, and keep us busy. When I am not at school, I enjoy Braves Baseball, vacationing at the beach, relaxing, shopping, and most of all, spending time with my family.
