A Message from Hartselle City Schools

Dear Parents, Students, Teachers, and Staff,
We are heartbroken over the devastating news that we have lost members of our Hartselle City Schools family. The grief we are feeling as a school community is profound, and our hearts ache alongside the family who is experiencing this unimaginable loss. We also continue to lift up in our thoughts and prayers our students who remain in critical condition.
In response, we will have our grief counselor, our mental health coordinator, our social workers, and additional counselors on site at our schools tomorrow to support both students and staff. We want to ensure that everyone has access to the care and support they need during this time.
We encourage our parents to reach out if additional support is needed. Please feel free to contact your child’s school counselor or an administrator via email, which can be found on our school websites. If you would like for us to check in on your student in the coming days, we are here and ready to help.
Communication and collaboration with our parents will be key as we support our students in the days ahead. Together, we will work to provide comfort, stability, and care for every member of our school community.
We will have a community-wide prayer service tomorrow, Monday, April 13th at 3:30 PM at the Hartselle High School Auditorium for anyone who would like to come together in support and prayer for the affected family and friends. This service will be led by our local ministers, and counselors and support staff will also be on site.
Please continue to keep all of our Hartselle City Schools family in your thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Dr. Holly Sutherland
Superintendent
