2023 Hartselle High School Announces AP Scholars

Students in schools all over the globe take Advanced Placement (AP) exams every spring. The College Board’s AP® program provides willing and academically prepared students with the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while still in high school, and to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP Exams.

The College Board released the AP scores in July. A total of 60 Hartselle High School students earned AP Scholar Awards to recognize their exceptional achievement on AP Exams taken in spring 2023.

AP® Scholar Award Level

The AP Scholar Awards are a series of awards given by the College Board to students who have demonstrated exemplary college-level achievement. The high school students have to earn a 3 or above score on at least three AP exams.

  • AP Scholar: Granted to students who receive 3 or higher scores on three or more AP Exams.
  • AP Scholar With Honor: Granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.
  • AP Scholar With Distinction: Granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
  • National AP Scholar: Granted to students in the United States who receive an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.
