I am originally from Jacksonville, Alabama. I met my husband, Ferrell Vest, while I was a student at Jacksonville State University. After leaving college I spent 20 years following him, a career military officer, around the world. In addition to Alabama, we have lived in Georgia, Florida, Colorado, Kansas, and California. We also lived in Europe---Germany and Italy. In fact, we moved to Hartselle from Naples, Italy. We have two children; both graduated from Hartselle High School and the University of Alabama. Our son, Tyler, is a major in the US Army and is currently part of the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He is married to the former Emily Lauren Robinson of Gadsden; she is an RN at Tennova Healthcare Hospital in Clarksville, Tennessee. They are expecting their first child, a girl, in September. Our daughter, Caitlin, is married to US Army Captain Eric Norwood. They live in Clarksville, Tennessee; he is stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Caitlin has a photography business, Love Always, Memories Photography. They have one child, John Eric (6 months). I have four "granddogs": Foxy, a miniature beagle; Birdie, a black lab; Ella, a havanese; and Stone, a boxer. My husband is retired, and we enjoy traveling during the summer. He also pursues his hobbies of photography, boating, and fly fishing. I am a passionate reader; but as September nears, my passion changes to following college football---Roll Tide! It doesn't get any better than a crisp fall afternoon in Bryant-Denny Stadium.
