Degrees and Certifications:
Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education ( Biology/History Majors ) Masters in Ed. Leadership
My name is Scott Holladay and I have been teaching for Hartselle City Schools for going on 17 years now. The best part of my job is not only teaching but helping others whenever the opportunity arises. I taught 8th grade Science for 15 years and taught at the Intermediate School for one year helping with Fast Forward Reading and ISS. I am currently teaching Earth and Space Science, supervising some Virtual classes, and In School Intervention (ISI) at the high school. Hartselle High students are some of the best, most respectful students I have worked with.
I started attending Calhoun Community College at about 24-25 years of age and finished at Athens State University at the age of 30 with a B.S. degree in Secondary Ed. with majors in Biology and History. I later returned to college earning a Masters degree in Ed. Leadership from UAB.
I have one son Brock that has been the best blessing of my life. I believe having him has made me a better teacher and being a teacher has helped to make me a better father. I hope that within time I am able to teach him as much as he has already taught me. As a lot of parents do, I try to center my life around Brock's needs.
