Mrs. Denise Smyth
My name is Denise Smyth. I have been a teacher for more than 25 years, most of which has been in the Hartselle City Schools system. I also taught in Shelby County, Alabama, early in my career. I have taught high school, middle school, elementary school, and I'm currently teaching preschool, which is a dream come true. I love working with the babies, and I look forward to coming to school each day. :-)
I have been married to John for over 35 years. He recently retired from United Launch Alliance in Decatur and Aerojet Rocketdyne in Huntsville after twenty years in the aerospace industry. A heart attack made us rethink how important life is, and he decided to retire and enjoy all of the things that we have worked hard for. We have two daughters, Jaime, who is married to Jacob and is the mother to Hank and Chet, our precious grandsons, and Mollie Jane, the latest sweet addition to our family. They live in Falkville, and it is wonderful having them close by. Our other daughter is Jodie, who is married to Jon and is the mother to Eli and Eden, our other precious grandchildren. They live in Prattville, after many years in Wisconsin, and it is great having them within a short driving distance. 😊
My husband and I like to travel, and we recently went on our first cruise to celebrate our anniversary. We enjoy the beach, the mountains, and busy cities. We have a long-haired chihuahua named Toby, and we enjoy church activities, music concerts, and theatre. We manage to stay pretty busy.
I love to read and enjoy reading biographies and inspirational non-fiction. I like to go shopping, especially at consignment stores, and I love to eat lunch out with friends.
I truly love my job at Crestline, and I wouldn't want to teach anywhere else! :-)
