About Hartselle City Schools

Hartselle City Schools is located in the northern part of Alabama in Morgan County in the city of Hartselle. Hartselle City Schools became a school system in 1975 and serves a population of approximately 12,000 citizens. It is comprised of five schools with a total enrollment of 3,195 students. Hartselle City Schools has three elementary schools. These schools serve students in kindergarten through fifth grade. They are Barkley Bridge Elementary with an enrollment of 432, Crestline Elementary with an enrollment of 598 and F.E. Burleson Elementary with and enrollment of 472. Hartselle Jr. High School is the middle school. It has an enrollment of 801 and serves students in grades six through eight. Hartselle High School serves students in grades nine through twelve and has an enrollment of 892. The school population consists of seven- percent minority students. The socio-economic levels vary within the schools with about 22% qualifying for the free and reduced lunch program system wide. Test scores indicate that students score above the national average on standardized tests. Hartselle City Schools offers special services for IDEA students, Title I Reading at the elementary level and Advanced Placement classes at the high School level. Hartselle City Schools offers a wide range of extra curricular activities and sports for students.
